I think the title says it all! This photo is the first in a new series called Guess the Food. Sometimes when you’re cooking, or eating, or cleaning up after a meal, you come across something that looks a little different, and taken out of context, you may wonder if anyone else would know what it is.
So as a fun quiz for all you readers out there, let’s play Guess the Food: What’s in the blender? (Hint: it is really food, and it’s kinda gross.) If you think you know what it is, please add your guess to the comments. I’ll confirm when someone guesses correctly.

Bluto, you got it! This is a blender full of sliced calf liver. I purchased it in the frozen section of the grocery store — about 1 lb, then thawed it and combined it with flour and egg to make dog treats. They are edible by people too, but I don’t like the taste of liver. Thanks for guessing!

CHICKEN LIVERS BAKED
Remove tendons from livers. Place in baking dish so that the livers are almost two inches deep. Grate fresh black pepper and then sprinkle generously with soy sauce, then buttered bread crumbs so that they form a crust. Bake at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes or until firm.
